How to Start?

The United Nations was organized, essentially, as a way to control globalization.  It deals with economic, environmental, human rights, and many other issues affecting people worldwide.  A main issue that the UN tries to aid in regulating is human rights, to make sure that citizens of the global community are not denied their, as the Declaration of Independence states, "unalienable rights".  While the United Nations has only good intentions, its efforts are often futile.

The international community must agree that the United Nations affects their lives; the UN is involved with almost every aspect of it.  The organization was created to ensure peace and prosperity on the world scale. The main problem, however, is the ability to cater to every world leader, with all the diversity that is seen in government and each of the different policies that make up each government; it cannot be done. Often seen as a main catalyst for globalization, the United Nations's attempts at the improving of human life internationally are futile.

The UN's influence sources

The first source I looked at was from a site called "vault nine". This source has no credibility whatsoever. It is a forum where anyone can voice their thoughts and opinions. This means the uneducated, racist, and insane can write about their take on the UN's influence on the world. Obviously, this source can not be used because of its lack of credibility.

The next source was the Foreign Policy bulletin written by the U.S. Dept of State. This source had more credibility than the first. The only problem that it has is that it is slightly biased. Because it is coming from the government of a country that is very involved in the topic, the UN's influence, and who is criticized often for its inability to be influenced by the UN, the source is not extremely credible.

My last source was the Encyclopaedia Britannica. It is extremely credible. The article lists facts solely and thus the information cannot be disproved.
